Sierra Leone MPs brawl over proposed change in electoral system

A row over a proposed plan for Sierra Leone’s electoral system prompted a major brawl during the parliamentary session on Wednesday in the capital Freetown.

Video footage shows punches being exchanged amid raucous shouting.

A huge object, apparently the parliamentary mace, is hurled from one side of the chamber onto a group of MPs and then it was hurled back but this time it landed on the floor.
